Grand Re-opening of the foundation’s office
On May 23, 2023, the foundation opened the doors to our newly renovated office and invited over a hundred representatives from academia, private and public sector to a Grand Re-Opening. It was an evening full of networking and conversations about the importance of governance issues from different perspectives.
For thirty years, the von Rosenska palace has been the base for the Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation. It is here at Storgatan 58 that hundreds of seminars and round table discussions have been arranged to discuss issues that affect the development of business in Sweden. During the past year, an extensive renovation has been carried out to create even better conditions for future meetings.
– After two years of pandemic and a year of renovation, the conditions for arranging our seminars have been far from ideal. Now we are at the finish line, and we wanted to take the opportunity to gather our network and make a fresh start before the summer, says Tor Bonnier, chairman of the Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation.
Over the years, the foundation’s seminars have become an important arena for sharing knowledge and creating constructive dialogue between various actors in academia, business and public activity.
– Since 1986, we have arranged over 280 events, seminars, and round table discussions. Now we have upgraded our home for the future and look forward to continuing to initiate change by gathering our network around important issues, continues Tor.
At the inauguration of the newly renovated office, representatives from the foundation’s board, committees, forums, scholarship programs and research projects, as well as seminar participants and tenants participated.
– We wanted to invite the foundation’s entire family. The individuals in our network are the heart of our business. Without their support, commitment, and contribution, we would not have been able to make the difference that we have made over the years, concludes Tor.
During the evening, the participants heard Kia Orback Pettersson, Chairman of the board of SVT, Darja Isaksson, Director General at Vinnova and Karl Wennberg, Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, share their thoughts on the importance of collaboration and governance to meet the societal challenges we are facing. It gave insights into which issues the foundation will focus on in the future to contribute to change.
The foundation’s founder, Karl-Adam Bonnier, also entered the stage to share the story and history of the von Rosenska palace and the importance it has had as a meeting place over the years.
