Distinguished Global Swede award to KAB-IFP fellow
On May 28, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Institute awarded the Global Swede award to 19 prominent international students at Swedish universities. For ten years, the Global Swede award has been awarded to active, committed and enthusiastic students who are excellent in areas closely related to innovation and entrepreneurship. This year one of the awarded students was the foundation’s KAB-IFP fellow, Quyen Nguyen. At the ceremony, which took place online, she received the award from Anna Hallberg, Minister of Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs, and Madeleine Sjöstedt, Director General of the Swedish Institute. Among the participants were representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swedish Institute and Swedish universities.
The purpose of Global Swede is to create cross-border and multicultural networks that will contribute to Swedish trade and the development of future solutions.
Our Yearly Alumi Dinner
On January 20th, 2020 the Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation hosted a yearly alumni dinner for its current KAB-IFP fellows and Darden fellows. During the evening Jessica O’Mary, Head of Development & Alumni Relations at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), shared how they work to create involvement and a culture of giving back among their SSE-almuni. The dinner was also attended by Katarzyna Hess-Wiktor, Entrepreneur of the Year and CEO at Minnity, who described how they help lower the social costs of dementia through tailor-made home care.
How to succeed in the world’s fastest growing startup hubs
On November 14th, 2019, the 3rd-cohort fellows of the K-A Bonnier International Fellows Program organized a seminar focusing on the diverse challenges that startups face in Southeast Asia and the Nordics. During an inspiring evening at the Stockholm School of Economics, Mats Isenberg, founder and CEO of Boappa, Cecilia Oskarsson, former General Manager of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, Anna Norrevik, CEO of Antler Interactive, and Eric De Geer, Founding Partner & COO at the Business Rock Star Company in Vietnam, shared their experiences of cultural differences and best practices for startups to thrive in these attractive markets.
Yearly Alumni Dinner with Darden Fellows
In January 2019, the Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation hosted a yearly alumni dinner for its Darden fellows. This year the foundation’s KAB-IFP fellows also attended. During the evening Fredrik Hjelm, Founding CEO of Voi Technology, and Mark Conley, Assistant Professor at Stockholm School of Economics, shared their valuable insights and perspectives on entrepreneurship.
Expanding throughout Asia – How to choose your next market
On November 19th, 2018 four 2nd-cohort fellows of the K-A Bonnier International Fellows Program organized a seminar at the Stockholm School of Economics, regarding the business expansion of Nordic companies into the Asian market. Executives from Business Sweden, Arla, EF and Djenee shared their valuable insights and experiences with the participants.
Alumni Dinner with Darden Fellows
On January 26, 2015 the Karl-Adam Bonnier Foundation hosted an alumni dinner attended by 11 past Darden scholarship recipients. The recipients now hold prominent positions in Sweden and internationally. Their time at the Darden School of Business had a significant impact on them:
